tTG IgG Coeliac Disease Blood Test
Uncover hidden gluten sensitivity when standard tests fall short.
The tTG IgG Coeliac Disease Blood Test measures tissue transglutaminase IgG antibodies to help identify coeliac disease, particularly in individuals who may not produce the more commonly tested IgA antibodies. This test is valuable for those with suspected gluten sensitivity, family history of coeliac disease, or persistent symptoms despite previous negative screening. It is also used when IgA deficiency is suspected, as standard IgA-based tests can be falsely negative in such cases.
Marker included
- Tissue transglutaminase IgG (tTG IgG): Detects IgG antibodies against tissue transglutaminase, an enzyme involved in gluten processing. Elevated levels may indicate an immune response to gluten, suggestive of coeliac disease.
Why it matters
Coeliac disease is a serious autoimmune condition that can lead to nutritional deficiencies, bone loss, and other complications if undiagnosed. The tTG IgG test offers a crucial diagnostic tool for individuals who might otherwise be missed by routine screening, enabling timely dietary intervention and improved long-term health.

No special preparation required.
For blood tests, we recommend drinking plenty of water beforehand to ensure smooth sample collection. If you are taking any regular medication, continue to do so unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
