Cadmium Blood Test
Detect toxic cadmium exposure before it harms your kidneys.
Cadmium is a heavy metal that accumulates in the body over time, particularly in the kidneys and liver, and is associated with smoking, industrial exposure, and contaminated food or water. This test measures the level of cadmium in a simple blood sample, providing a direct indication of recent or ongoing exposure. It is suitable for individuals with occupational risk (such as battery manufacturing, metal plating, or welding), smokers, those living near industrial sites, or anyone concerned about environmental exposure. The analysis is performed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), a highly sensitive technique for trace metal detection.

Why it matters
Chronic cadmium exposure can lead to irreversible kidney damage, bone demineralisation, and respiratory issues. Early detection allows for timely removal from the source, monitoring of levels, and appropriate clinical management to reduce further accumulation and protect long-term health.

No special preparation required.
For blood tests, we recommend drinking plenty of water beforehand to ensure smooth sample collection. If you are taking any regular medication, continue to do so unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
Important Clinical Information:
