Thrombophilia Panel 4
Unlock the secrets of your blood clotting risk, one gene at a time
Service Description
PCR-hybridization: This test uses to detect 6 genetic variations associated with increased risk of atherosclerosis. These are: - ΑCE (angiotensin-converting enzyme_ - ApoB (apolipoprotein B) - ApoE (apolipoprotein E) - GPIIIa (glycoprotein IIIa), - Fibrinogen-β - eNOS (endothelial nitric oxide synthase) [G894S, -786 T>C] ACE is an enzyme involved in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, which regulates blood pressure and fluid balance. Genetic variations in the ACE gene have been associated with an increased risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. ApoB is a protein involved in the transport of lipids, including cholesterol. Genetic variations in the ApoB gene have been associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. ApoE is a protein involved in the metabolism of lipids, including cholesterol. Genetic variations in the ApoE gene have been associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. GPIIIa is a glycoprotein involved in platelet aggregation and clot formation. Genetic variations in the GPIIIa gene have been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, particularly in individuals with diabetes. Fibrinogen-β is a protein involved in the coagulation process. Genetic variations in the Fibrinogen-β gene have been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, particularly in individuals with diabetes. eNOS is an enzyme involved in the production of nitric oxide, which helps to regulate blood pressure and vascular tone. Genetic variations in the eNOS gene, including G894S and -786 T>C, have been associated with an increased risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Individuals with one or more of these genetic variations may have an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Genetic testing may be useful in identifying individuals who may be at increased risk, particularly in the context of other risk factors such as a personal or family history of cardiovascular disease, smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. Sample: BLOOD Results:2 weeks Phlebotomy fee: £15 (included in price)
