These tests help evaluate the pancreas's ability to produce and release digestive enzymes and hormones, as well as assess the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Amylase (AMY): Measures the level of amylase, an enzyme produced by the pancreas, in the blood. Elevated levels of amylase may indicate pancreatitis or other pancreatic disorders.
