Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT): Measures the level of ALT, an enzyme found primarily in liver cells. Elevated ALT levels can indicate liver damage or injury. Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST): Measures the level of AST, an enzyme present in various tissues including the liver. Elevated AST levels can indicate liver damage, but it is not specific to the liver and can also be elevated in other conditions. Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP): Measures the activity of ALP, an enzyme found in various tissues including the liver, bile ducts, and bones. Elevated ALP levels can indicate liver or bone-related conditions. Total Bilirubin (TB) and Indirect Bilirubin (IB): Measures the level of bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced during the breakdown of red blood cells. Elevated bilirubin levels can indicate liver dysfunction or impaired bilirubin processing. Total Protein (TP) and Albumin (ALB): Measures the levels of total protein and albumin, which are important markers of liver synthetic function. Low protein or albumin levels can suggest liver dysfunction. Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT): Measures the level of GGT, an enzyme found in the liver, bile ducts, and other tissues. Elevated GGT levels can indicate liver or bile duct-related conditions, and it is often used to assess alcohol-related liver damage. Urea: A waste product produced in the liver which is the result of breaking down and metabolizing protein. A low value is not uncommon but can be caused by liver disease, malnutrition, and over hydration. <- TEST CAN IDENTIFY -> -- Liver cirrhosis -- Hepatitis -- Cholestasis -- Inflammation of liver <- TEST CAN EXPLAIN -> -- Yellowish of skin or eyes -- Stomach pains (upper right) -- Dark urine -- Light coloured stool -- Swelling in the legs, ankles CODE: MNC-GCIV
