Service Description

Markers included in the test: -- Electrolyte Panel - 7 markers -- Urine Analysis – 14 markers -- Albumin (ALB) -- Creatinine (CRE) -- Glucose (GLU) -- Uric Acid (UA) -- Urea (UREA) -- Estimated GFR (eGFR) Sample: BLOOD and URINE Results: 4 HRS Phlebotomy fee: Included in price A kidney or renal function test, assesses the functioning of the kidneys and provides valuable information about their health and efficiency. The following are the part each biomarker plays in the measurement of the function of the kidney: 1. Electrolytes: Measures sodium, potassium, calcium, manganese, chloride, phosphorus, and bicarbonate (carbon dioxide). Abnormal levels of these electrolytes can indicate kidney dysfunction. 2. Urine Analysis: Measures in urine, the presence and the level of Ascorbic Acid, Bilirubin, Blood, Calcium, Creatinine, Glucose, Ketone, Leukocytes, Microalbumin, Nitrite, Protein and Urobilinogen. Healthy kidneys filter out waste products while keeping essential proteins in the bloodstream. The presence and the level of these markers can give a vital clue on the health of the kidney. 3. Serum Albumin: Measures the level of albumin, a protein produced by the liver and important for maintaining fluid balance. Low levels may indicate kidney damage or other conditions affecting protein metabolism. 4. Creatinine: Measures the level of creatinine, a waste product generated by muscle metabolism that is eliminated by the kidneys. Elevated levels may indicate decreased kidney function or kidney disease. 5. Glucose: Measures the level of serum glucose (fasting). Persistently high blood glucose levels in individuals with diabetes can lead to damage to the small blood vessels in the kidneys called glomeruli. 6. Uric Acid: Elevated levels of uric acid in the blood can indicate reduced kidney function or impaired ability of the kidneys to excrete uric acid effectively. 7. Blood Urea: Measures the level of urea in the blood. Elevated levels may indicate impaired kidney function or other conditions affecting the kidneys. 8. Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR): This is a calculated value based on the creatinine level, age, gender, and other factors. It provides an estimate of the kidney's ability to filter waste products from the blood. Test can explain: -- Change in urine colour -- Frequent urination -- Swelling in hands, legs -- Excessive thirst or dehydration -- Swelling in the legs, ankles -- Fatigue and weakness CODE: SD1-GCII/DIR
