IgM is one of the first antibodies that the body produces in response to an infection, and it is usually present in the blood in higher amounts during the early stages of an infection. IgM disorders includes: -- Recurrent infections: Frequent or severe bacterial, viral, or fungal infections, particularly of the respiratory or gastrointestinal tract. -- Enlarged lymph nodes: Swollen lymph nodes, especially in the neck, armpits, or groin. -- Persistent tiredness or lack of energy. -- Easy bruising or bleeding: Increased tendency to bruise easily or experience prolonged bleeding from minor injuries. -- Neurological symptoms: In some rare cases, IgM disorders can be associated with neurological symptoms such as neuropathy, cognitive impairment, or movement disorders. -- Skin issues: Rashes, skin infections, or ulcers. -- Joint pain and swelling: Joint inflammation and pain, similar to symptoms seen in rheumatoid arthritis.
