IgG is an antibody that is produced by the immune system in response to an infection or vaccination, and it helps protect the body against future infections by the same pathogen. IgG disorders includes: -- Recurrent infections: Frequent or severe bacterial, viral, or fungal infections, particularly of the respiratory or gastrointestinal tract. -- Fatigue: Persistent tiredness or lack of energy. -- Autoimmune manifestations: Symptoms of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, or autoimmune thyroid disease. -- Allergic reactions: Increased susceptibility to allergic reactions, such as hives, swelling, or anaphylaxis. -- Skin issues: Rashes, eczema, or dermatitis. -- Joint pain and swelling: Joint inflammation and pain, similar to symptoms seen in rheumatoid arthritis. -- Neurological symptoms: In some rare cases, IgG disorders can be associated with neurological symptoms such as neuropathy, cognitive impairment, or seizures. -- Gastrointestinal issues: Digestive problems like diarrhoea and abdominal pain. -- Blood disorders: Anaemia, low platelet count, or other blood-related abnormalities.
