IgA is an antibody that is part of the immune system and helps protect the body against infections. IgA is found in various parts of the body, including the mucous membranes of the respiratory and digestive tracts, as well as in saliva and breast milk. Deficiencies of IgA includes: -- Recurrent or chronic sinusitis, bronchitis, or pneumonia. -- Recurrent ear infections: Frequent middle ear infections. -- Chronic diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating. -- Increased susceptibility to autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or celiac disease. -- Heightened allergic responses or increased risk of allergic reactions. -- Increased vulnerability to skin infections or rashes. -- Higher risk of infections affecting the respiratory, gastrointestinal, or genitourinary systems.
