Biomarker: HS-CRP Sample: BLOOD Results: 2 HRS Phlebotomy fee: (included in price) HS-CRP (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein) test measures levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), a protein that is produced by the liver in response to inflammation. CRP is a marker of inflammation, and elevated levels of CRP have been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). The HS-CRP test is very sensitive and can be used to identify people who are at an increased risk of CVD even if they have not yet developed any symptoms. The symptoms of CVD can include: -- Chest pain -- Shortness of breath -- Nausea -- Light-headedness -- Sweating
