While some people with H. pylori infection might not experience any symptoms, it can contribute to various problems, including: - Peptic ulcers - Gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) - Abdominal pain and discomfort - Nausea and vomiting - Bloating and indigestion - Weight loss This test analyses a stool sample to detect the presence of antigens, which are foreign substances produced by H. pylori. The immune system typically generates antibodies to fight these antigens. However, the antigen test looks for the antigens themselves, offering a different approach compared H. pylori antibody tests.
