It is most commonly associated with pancreatic and colorectal cancers and may be used alongside other markers to support clinical assessment. WHEN CA 242 MAY BE RAISED Elevated levels may be seen in pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer. In some cases it may also increase in other gastrointestinal cancers. CA 242 may also be mildly elevated in certain non-cancerous conditions affecting the digestive system. SYMPTOMS THAT MAY REQUIRE FURTHER ASSESSMENT Persistent abdominal pain. Unexplained weight loss.
