Service Description

Biomarker: Anti-CCP Sample: BLOOD Results: 4 HRS Phlebotomy fee: £10.00 Anti-CCP (anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide) measures the amount of antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides (CCPs) in the blood. CCPs are modified proteins that are found in the joints of people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A positive anti-CCP test means that the person has developed antibodies to CCPs. This is a strong indicator of RA, but it is not a definitive diagnosis. A positive anti-CCP test can also be seen in people with other conditions, such as Sjögren's syndrome and lupus. The anti-CCP test is often used along with other tests, such as the rheumatoid factor (RF) test, to help diagnose RA. The RF test is also an antibody test, but it is not as specific for RA as the anti-CCP test.
